West 8th Stop Poster Process
Another process gif. This poster, printed a few months ago, is taken from a 35mm negative shot outside the West 8th subway stop in Coney Island. It's difficult to see in the animation but each layer is broken down into a halftone image, which is one method of translating a photographic image into a workable stencil fit for screenprinting. A process thread about halftone separation is soon to come.
Sunship Poster Process
To give you an idea of how our latest poster was printed, here's a process gif showing exactly how each color was printed in sequence. As you can see, each subsequent texture layer offers a lot of coverage over the colors underneath, but by using the natural transparency of waterbased ink you can create high color density and a unified palette.

New Posters!

We have two new posters!
The first of the two is an original design inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5 novel. The poster is a 5-color screenprint on 90 lbs yellow archival paper and is available at our Etsy Shop for $30.00.
The other is the second print in our series inspired by WWII era themes. The first print in this series can be found at our shop. This poster is 2-color screenprint on red archival paper. We are currently producing it, but look for it our shop in the coming days.
